From without the Flaminian Gate

"From Without the Flaminian Gate commemorates the one-hundred-and-fiftieth anniversary of the restoration of the Roman Catholic hierarchy in England and Wales. Rather than concentrating on more recent changes, it embraces the whole of the last one-hundred-and-fifty years. The impact of recent developments as the Church comes to grips with the pressures of modern life, while simultaneously trying to preserve what is of lasting value in its inheritance, approach and teaching, can thus be more readily appreciated."--BOOK JACKET.
