Flocks of colour

"Whenever Australian birds are mentioned, parrots immediately spring to mind - cockatoos, galahs, cockatiels, corellas, lorikeets, fig-parrots, rosellas, parakeets and budgerigars. Whether cheerfully chattering among themselves or raucously announcing their presence from the treetops, sweeping by in busy flocks, malingering in cheeky gangs, or dangling acrobatically, they seem to enjoy life - their faces never less than engaging, always knowing. All 56 species of parrot, both extant and extinct, are in Flocks of Colour, which covers 200 years of parrot illustration and more than 35 artists, from Geroge Raper, midshipman on the Sirius of the First Fleet, to world-renowned wildlife artist William T. Cooper"--Back cover.
