Reissue of a collection of writings of the 1890s by poets, storytellers and essayists, including Henry Lawson, Victor Daley, Christopher Brennan and A B Paterson. Divided into six sections: writing on Australia; city life; lyrical verse; nationalism, politics and society; the city and the bush; and up the country. One of the TUQP Australian Authors' series, originally published in 1977, it contains a new preface.
