When Charles Brook, a solicitor who is having an affair, secretly rents a flat in the fictitious name of Geoffrey Greenwood, he unwittingly sets in motion an extraordinary chain of events which enables him to turn the imaginary Greenwood into a multi-millionaire & make a new life for himself in that guise.
