Your memory for life!

Do you constantly wish you could remember the names of people you've met, the items you need to buy, and the things you have to do? Your memory is better than you think! This special volume differs from others that merely suggest memory aids; it also examines problems and issues that concern many people, and offers up-to-date solutions. Among the topics you'll find addressed are the effects of age on memory, the reliability of eyewitness accounts in court cases, the working of memory during examinations, and memory following brain damage. You'll also see how health and emotional stress can affect your ability to recall things. Take simple tests to see how well you remember -- new ones appear at the end of each chapter, so you can monitor your improvement after trying the techniques (like imagery and "mental filing systems") for building a better memory. See which medicines and foods contribute to disorientation and forgetfulness, how social pressures impact on our recall, and why we sometimes just don't have the motivation to retain certain facts. A comprehensive volume that can affect every aspect of your life.
