Passover Revisited

"Placed within the context of the Soviet Jewry movement, Passover Revisited: Philadelphia's Efforts to Aid Soviet Jews 1963-1998 argues that Philadelphia was the best organized and most effective Soviet Jewry advocacy network in the world. Refuseniks (Soviets Jews denied the right to emigrate) lauded Philadelphia as the most important driving force in their liberation from the Soviet Union.

Philadelphia played the leading international role in expediting the largest exodus of Jews living in oppression since Moses led the Hebrews out of Egypt. Philadelphia's advocacy programs helped to facilitate one of the greatest miracles of modern times."--BOOK JACKET.
