At 52, Karl Preston lives a comfortable and "ideal American" life with his wife and 24-year-old daughter in an affluent North Carolina suburb. At the request of his father, Karl and his family travel to Florida for a weekend visit that reveals more than he expected, including a roller-coaster ride of emotions the buttoned-up Karl isn't fully prepared to deal with.
