Guilty

"In Guilty: Hollywood's Verdict on Arabs after 9/11, Jack G. Shaheen asks: Has 9/11 changed how Arabs are portrayed by Hollywood? In an examination of more than a hundred movies made since then, Shaheen finds many of the same stereotypes - shady sheikhs, evil terrorists, silent veiled women - he documented so powerfully in his definitive Reel Bad Arabs. But he also finds unexpected hope in a growing number of films that feature more complicated, fully human portrayals of Arabs." "Guilty is an essential volume for anyone concerned with the power of Hollywood to shape public opinion and with the US's role in the Arab world."--Jacket.
