The Niccolo Machiavelli Collection

Machiavelli's thought marks the firm break between the philosophy of the Renaissance and the theological view that dominated Medieval thought. Niccolo Machiavelli believed that humans determined their destiny and focused on how the quality of leadership rather than divine right governed political affairs. Though often maligned as immoral, a closer look at his work shows that Machiavelli believed in moral principles but doubted they will always triumph.
