Claudio Parmiggiani

This book details the most recent installations by the great artist and also his relationship with Luzzara (Reggio Emilia) the village where Parmiggiani was born; the source of the universal within his work, a sort of personal 'Spoon River Anthology' that explains the way his art evolved. This is an unusual book that contains a number of eminently literary and pertinent essays which show the different ways of interpreting his richly meaningful art. One of the artist's most impressive and esteemed achievements is that the theatrical 18th century Palazzo Fabroni is reopening (after several years of restoration), to host this exhibition. Twelve rooms house the same number of new installations which through a series of subtle connections and relationships create a single work- a true inner voyage- where the huge variety of materials such as milk, blood, iron, glass, marble, paper, ashes and wax are capable of becoming a conduit to the imagination.
