The Smugglers Code Murders

*** Some secrets were never meant to unravel! *** A cozy mystery that intertwines the world of knitting with unexpected tension and historical intrigue. The perfect blend of craft and crime, with a refreshingly intelligent protagonist and a cat who steals every scene! When washed-up Boston professor Nathan Holloway is found dead on the shores of Smuggler's Cove, his body clad in a peculiar fisherman's sweater, Ellie Winters recognizes more than just expert knitting in its intricate pattern. The modified "Holloway Point" design-once used by Prohibition-era rum-runners to encode secret navigation routes-points to a mystery that has remained submerged for nearly a century. As proprietor of Coastal Yarns and reluctant heiress to a rum-running fortune, Ellie finds herself entangled in a web of historical intrigue when her eerily intuitive cat, Captain, begins collecting pieces of nautical twine that form what appears to be a map to something valuable hidden long ago. With Detective Sarah Chen investigating the modern murder and maritime expert Tom Fletcher discovering his grandfather's secret logbook, connections between Woolbridge Cove's most prominent families begin to surface. The Holloways, the Fletchers, and even Ellie's own great-grandmother Eleanor were all bound by dangerous secrets during the Prohibition-secrets worth killing for, even today. As fog shrouds the coastal town, Ellie must decipher the message hidden in wool and twine before a killer strikes again. What lies buried at "Thieves' Hollow," and who would murder to keep it there? The tide is rising, and with it, deadly truths that have remained hidden for generations. Warm up your knitting needles-this is one murder you'll want to piece together stitch by stitch! Includes a cable knitting pattern inspired by Holloway Point. Book 2 of The Knitting Shop Mysteries: a series that combines the charm of small-town life, the timeless love of crafting, and the intrigue of a classic whodunit.
